Lawrence Institute of Technology Photos
Below are photos of LIT's IBM 1130 installation in Southfield, MI, circa 1970.
They were provided by Paul Riethmeier in July 2009. Here's what Paul has to say:
There are limited photos of the 1130 itself...and, alas, I couldn't find a photo of the
console itself. The filenames describe pretty much who or what everything is.
The color photos were taken around March 1969. The B&W photos in Dec 1970.
Here is the breakdown of who's who:
- The Registrar and DP Manager: Bernie Lis
- Main keypunchers and tab operators: Judy, Adrian (not pictured), and Andie.
- Student operator: Ken
- me: Paul
- Mrs Buck worked for the registrar (she is the wife of C. Buck, the accounting professor, now deceased)
- Terry worked for the registrar in 1968-9 before the registrar and DP management were put under Bernie (who had only the DP manager function before).
- Jim Cramer was an instructor, I believe.
- Marva & Peggy were dept administrators
